As part of the GWR Community Apprentice Scheme run by Envision, Team pH7 from Colston’s Girls’ School are campaigning to eliminate gender stereotypes associated with careers.
To promote the cause, an event took place on board one of GWR’s services stretching from Bristol Temple Meads along the Severn Beach line, supported by the Severnside Community Rail Partnership.
Passengers on-board took part in conversation relating to their career choices and were asked whether they ever felt limited. Responses from passengers were overwhelming, with many sharing testimonies and wanting to further engage with the campaign. In addition to sharing experiences, passengers took part by writing on post-it notes and sharing through acetate imagery displayed on the windows of the train. These images and post-it notes stretched along the train with onlookers engaging post-event.
Jade, Creative Director noted “It was such a great opportunity to spread our message onboard the GWR trains and speak to members of the public about our cause. We are really grateful to everyone that has made this possible”
The campaign is growing, with school talks and poster campaigns planned in the near future.
